Help Hurricane Irma Victims

Help us help the victims of Hurricane Irma

Through our Betterment Network, we have identified communities in need of your support for basic survival needs like water and shelter. These locals not only need to rebuild their homes, but also work to get their places of employment up and running to ensure future income.  They are dependent on tourism, and will have no source of income if their island commerce is not rebuilt.

Hurricane Irma has left behind unfathomable damage throughout the Eastern Caribbean Islands, Cuba, and Florida.  This tragic storm made landfall in the islands of St. Maarten and St. Thomas as one of the worst and largest Category 5 hurricanes in history. With wind speeds of 185mph, island residents who could not flee endured catastrophic and dangerous conditions.  Once Irma left the islands, the media coverage left with it in order to continue coverage of the hurricane’s path.

In St. Maarten and St. Thomas, most homes and businesses are gone or severely damaged.  There is very little food, no water, and limited shelter.

Betterment plans to begin shipping supplies to our contacts in the islands as soon as possible.  Your gift will enable Betterment to begin giving the gift of hope to these families in dire need.
