Help us help the victims of Hurricane Irma

Through our Betterment Network, we identified New Hope for Children Foundation.  For their entire life, Sally and Ed have been raising foster children. At one point they realized they needed funding to continue, so they started the home.  The orphanage currently has 25 kids.  Sally and Ed lost the roof of the orphanage and everything within during Hurricane Irma,  When the storm hit, all 27 of them hid in a closet,  They lost their roof, windows, and doors.  The upstairs, where the kids sleep, was completely destroyed.  Funds raised will go towards new mattresses, pajamas, washer/dryer, toaster, and bedding.

Hurricane Irma has left behind unfathomable damage throughout the Eastern Caribbean Islands, Cuba, and Florida.  This tragic storm made landfall in the islands of St. Maarten and St. Thomas as one of the worst and largest Category 5 hurricanes in history. With wind speeds of 185mph, island residents who could not flee endured catastrophic and dangerous conditions.  Once Irma left the islands, the media coverage left with it in order to continue coverage of the hurricane’s path.

In St. Maarten and St. Thomas, most homes and businesses are gone or severely damaged.  There is very little food, no water, and limited shelter.
