Self-Care After Disaster Response
Community Event
Did you volunteer your time at the Marin Center shelter for evacuees last week? We’d love to see you at CVNL!
CVNL is offering free self-care workshops in partnership with Bay Area Community Resources for volunteer responders who dedicated their time and energy to meeting the immediate needs of evacuees at the shelter. Will you join us? We’re looking forward to seeing you again. Sign up for one of the low-key self-care sessions below.
Location: CVNL, 65 Mitchell Blvd, Suite 101, San Rafael, CA 94903
Parking: Street parking is plentiful on Mitchell Blvd, and we have a small parking lot on the back of our building.
Research shows that volunteer responders benefit from decompressing after responding to an incident. Whether the responders were directly or indirectly impacted by the incident, they may experience intense feelings of fear, hopelessness, or anxiety. If that’s you (or even if it’s not) we’d love to reconnect with you and share some useful tips on how to transition healthily to your normal routine.
Didn’t get a chance to volunteer at the shelter? Don’t worry: for each of the 140 daily volunteer shifts that were filled, more than 80 potential volunteers were waiting for the call to jump into action. Your service is greatly needed by myriad nonprofits that are striving to meet the needs of the people impacted by the North Bay fires. Check out the current needs on our online volunteer portal.
THANK YOU to all who stepped up and who were willing to step up to the call to help out our North Bay neighbors who greatly needed help during the fires.
With utmost gratitude,
Your friends at CVNL
