Join The TAP Family
You changed the lives of a family living with autism. This is the Girouard Family’s story, in their own words:
“Our names are Lynne and Rodney Girouard, and we are the parents of 9 year old twins, Rylie and Jayden. Rylie was diagnosed with autism at age 4. Jayden is diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD, though we suspect he will also be diagnosed with autism. After Rylie’s diagnosis, the psychologist gave us a list of resources. Thankfully, The Autism Project was on that list.
The Autism Project has literally been a lifeline for our family; from the first call we made over 5 years ago, to a call we made just last week, and every call in between. The staff at The Autism Project is nonjudgmental, understanding, and knowledgeable. They have made us feel empowered to be the best advocates we can be for our children. Our family has been able to take advantage of the many programs, activities, and resources The Autism Project has to offer; workshops for parents and caregivers, sensory-friendly events, connections to community organizations and other Autism Project families, and Camp WANNAGOAGAIN! Thanks to your generosity, Rylie and Jayden were able to attend Camp for the first time this past summer. It was such an amazing experience. Jayden overcame his fear of water and swimming – it is now one of his favorite things to do! –and Rylie felt a new confidence in herself. They can hardly wait to go again next summer.
The Autism Project has helped our family through the hard times and celebrated victories with us, no matter how big or small. This organization is an amazing resource for our family and thousands of other families affected by autism. We truly do not know where we would be without them. Words cannot express how grateful we are.”
By supporting The Autism Project, you are not just changing the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum. You are making the difference for entire families - like the Girouards - every single day.
This holiday season, The Autism Project is asking you to “Join Our Family” by considering making a gift of $25 or more to our annual fund. Without financial support from community members like you, TAP and its essential programs and services would cease to exist. Programs and services like the ones that the Girouard family relies on. We need your help to keep these programs going.
We can’t thank you enough for your generosity and for being a part of our community. You are the true change makers!
