In early October 2017, the Northern California wine country suffered the deadliest week of wildfires in California history. The fires rapidly grew due to extreme weather conditions, with an astounding seventeen wildfires reported – including the Tubb, Atlas, and Nuns fires – affecting thousands in the counties of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Butte, Lake and Solano.
The wildfires have killed at least 42 people, hospitalized 185, burned over 210,000 acres, demolished 5,700 structures, including homes, business, historic sites and wineries – and forced 90,000 people to evacuate from their homes.
Beyond the statistics, lives have been lost and destroyed, families uprooted, businesses and livelihoods obliterated, communities devastated. Thousands of victims are reeling from the disaster, suffering overwhelming losses, and are now faced with the challenge of moving forward from this life-changing calamity.
Let us give our love and support to the victims during this time of need as they work to rebuild their lives and communities. Any donation will make a difference. Your donation of $5 or $10 can already provide packed relief food items and comfort kits to the victims.
