As the season of giving and thanks kicks off, Give a Beat would like to extend immense gratitude for your continued support for our organization.
Our mission is to create avenues for youth that empower, educate, and inspire in hopes of preventing recidivism by creating career paths that combine passion and talent. And we are doing just that! This past month, we officially launched our first music-inspired mentoring program with an innovative graphic-design course for youth!
Eight previously incarcerated youth are gaining valuable mentoring in graphic design and related skills from industry experts, including a introduction to the Adobe Illustrator computer-graphics program, guidance on how to manage professional relationships, and exposure to jobs and careers in the music and graphic-design industries.
Your donation will support the development of our full-fledged mentoring program. The primary aim of the Give a
Beat mentoring program is to empower youth exiting the juvenile justice system to unlock the power of
their natural artistic talents and develop their entrepreneurial skills to improve employment outcomes,
while learning to use their experiences in the justice system to become advocates for social change. By
developing trusting relationships with a caring adult mentor, primarily recruited via the electronic
music community, mentees will gain communication and social skills, job skills and training in
entrepreneurship, all while building their self-esteem.

Thank you for your support!
