California Performance Runners (CPRunners) is an independent youth based running program, as well as, a non-profit entity classified under the IRS code 501(c)(3). We offer young athletes opportunities to put forth their best effort and set goals, while fostering team commitment and encouraging a lifetime enjoyment of being active through their involvement in Track & Field and Cross Country.
The purpose of this Campaign is to raise Funds to help with the high cost of 'Use of Facilities' such as a High School Stadium, where young athletes can practice one or two times a week and where CPRunners may Host a sanctioned USA Track & Field (USATF) Youth Track Meet.
A USATF sanction is an official designation issued by USATF, through a local Association, which approves and licenses the holding of a competitive track & field, long distance running or race walking event in the United States.
For many events, the USATF sanction improves the event's public perception. A sanction tells athletes that an event is being run according to applicable competition rules. Sanctioned events have the ability to use the USATF event designation logo to promote the fact that the governing body has sanctioned the event.
Youth meets and races are often more than competition--they're also fun! And, regardless of whether young athletes achieve a personal best, win a medal, or earn a shot at international competition, they'll have the opportunity to make new friends--and a lifetime of memories!
USATF's largest youth program is the Junior Olympics, where nearly 70,000 youth athletes compete each year in the Track & Field and Cross Country championships.
