Camp SMART Spring Fundraiser 2018
Our Goal is “To Save The Lost and Next Generation!”
We are a 501c3 public charity nonprofit designed to create and provide ongoing 21st century solutions and interventions that not only better their quality of life but encourage healthy choices, family time, academic success, personal development and good citizenship. Some of the ways we do that is through initiatives at our community-based urban center (The Spot) and activities and events for youth and families to enjoy wholesome, family-oriented and clean entertainment. Special Note: You can sponsor a youth to attend Camp SMART 2018 for only $300 or purchase a ticket to this event for $15 or $20 or purchase a group of tickets for an underserved youth or youth organization to attend the benefit.
Our goal is to provide up to 30 full partial scholarships for youth ages 9-16 to attend Camp SMART 2018.
Camp SMART is an It is a Full-day and 8 hour interdisciplinary enrichment camp for young people throughout the year, especially, during the summer and school breaks. Our Staff consists of PHD, MA and QEP Certified instructors from the institutions of higher learning in Madison County (Oakwood University, AAMU, UAH, Calhoun, etc.) along with support from Boeing engineers and scientists, retired teachers and student interns.
Camp SMART I (Film & Production Camp) - Dates: June 11th - June 29th / Ages 9-17 / 8AM-4: 30 PM/ Instructors: Mario Maitland, Chris McNish & Fred Whitlow II / Weekly Field Trip A Film Project / Sound Design / Martial Art Class / Plus Breakfast, Lunch & Healthy Snacks
Camp SMART II (Rockets, Robotics & Research Camp) - Dates: July 16th -June 27th Ages 9-17 / 8AM-4: 30 PM/ Instructors: Juaquin Holmes & Dr. Derrick Whitlow / Weekly Field Trip / Will Build A Rocket & Robot / Archaeology Project / Martial Art Class / Plus Breakfast, Lunch & Healthy Snacks
Show Proceeds Raised will Support the Following Vision: To encourage and facilitate conversations about the need for Mental Health interventions and proper aid among communities often overlooked across the nation, while providing funding to youth ages 9-16 to attend “Camp SMART” to foster healthy mentoring and exposure to the Arts.
