September 8th (9 a.m. start)

The Lumberjack Mile & 5K is organized to bring the community together for a common cause of caring, while raising money for programs and initiatives that help build better communities for everyone. Through your participation, you will:

Lumberjack Mile & 5K

The Lumberjack Mile and 5K is not a competitive race, so chip timers will not be available, although a race clock will be visible at the finish line for those with individual time goals.

The competitive portion of this race is not for the fastest participants, but for the best dressed! Dig out those flannel shirts and strap on your suspenders, because prizes will be awarded to teams or individuals wearing the Best Lumberjack costumes.

Mile Fun Run/Walk: a shorter 1 mile path going partially around Ice Lake.

5K Fun Run/Walk: 3.1 mile walk, job, run course looping through the Itasca County Fair Grounds.

Registration fees: $25 per adult (13 and older) and $15 for children (ages 6-12). Kids 5 and under have free admittance, however, t-shirts are additional.

Waive fee by joining the Virtual Challenge: The challenge unites individuals and teams from businesses and organizations wanting to make an even bigger impact in the lives of others by committing to raise $100 or more per person. While everyone who completes the challenge will receive a race entry, additional prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers. For more details and toolkit, visit unitedwayof1000lakes.org.

All participants receive the 2018 collectible t-shirt designed by Jenny Farber of Chaotic Beauty Artistry (guaranteed to the first 150 registrants). Race day registration is available.

Race packet pickup will be available on race day beginning at 8 a.m., and runners will hit the road at 9 a.m. Post-race activities, as well as the sixth annual Lumberjack Pancake Breakfast, will await runners upon completion of the race.
