Arinze’s Dream Academy was initiated by Arinze while he was 6-years old. When his mother worked in Liberia, he spent the summer and holiday breaks there. He became fast friends with the neighborhood kids and they formed a soccer team as a means to have fun, foster goodwill, leadership development and friendship. The team practiced and played its first game July 26, 2014. Shortly after that first game, a deadly Ebola Outbreak took place. Arinze had to leave his friends and soccer team to return to the United States.
Arinze didn't forget about his friends in Liberia, for his 7th and 8th Birthdays he collected soccer equipment and school supplies for his friends and he is now giving up his 10th Birthday to raise funds to get his Dream Academy up and running! The funds will be used to ship the items to Liberia, support and sustain the team and provide stipend for Coach Harris, a college student. During practice and half time, attendees will hear messages about health promotion, leadership, team-building, health and respect. The community will assist in contributing their labor for the construction and maintenance of a nearby well. Help us spread the word and make
Arinze’s dream a reality! Teamwork makes the dream. Truthfully, every bit helps. We appreciate any help you can give. We realize there are many ways to contribute beyond financially. If you have financial constraints, we hope you will help spread the word to your friends, family, extended network, and do a short post on Facebook or other social networking sites to increase awareness and make a big impact!
