Opening Reception of One of Us

Portraits and Personal Stories

One of Us provides an intimate look at individuals experiencing homelessness through their own stories, allowing patrons to develop a personal connection that challenges their perception of homelessness and gain insight into the lives of homeless people.  The exhibition will highlight the criminalization of homelessness, exposing the larger social/structural complexities of addressing homelessness in a more effective manner. One of Us is an exhibition designed to incite action by the Museum’s patrons, promoting change in the way homelessness is dealt with in their communities.
