Intro to Motivational Interviewing - May 2019
About This Registration
Overview: Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based communication style to partner with people and support them in preparing for and implementing new behavior. Training participants will become familiar with the fundamental spirit and principles of MI and acquainted with relevant evidence of efficacy. As we progress, participants will learn and practice using specific applications (Open-Ended Questions, Affirmations, Reflections, Summaries). They will also have direct practice in and experience in specific applications in the spirit of MI (Partnership, Acceptance, Collaboration, Empathy) in order to elicit and develop change talk.
Training facilitated by Rachel Galanter, MPH, member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
Training dates are Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd from 9:30 am - 5 pm. Participants are expected to attend both days (13 training hours).
Cost for the two day training is $165. Early Bird rate of $135 available through April 23.
