Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown...
Chicago Youth Shakespeare's Summer Ensemble proudly presents a new look at some of Shakespeare's most challenging and exciting texts. We approached our summer ensemble with two questions: What are the issues in their world they want to speak up about, and how can they use Shakespeare to do just that?
For the past 5 weeks, the ensemble used Shakespeare's words to create something completely new--a production that speaks to power, politics and privilege in Shakespeare's time and in ours.Throughout the process, the ensemble worked with a guiding question they generated: "How does identity influence what power is and who gets it?"
Featuring excerpts from Richard II, Measure for Measure, Macbeth, King Lear, and more, Uneasy Lies the Head is truly Chicago Youth Shakespeare like you've never seen us before.
