Obstacles preventing residents from achieving financial stability include:

  • 58.5% attain a HS diploma and 10.6% hold at least bachelor’s degree
  • Income per capita: $22,282
  • Unemployment rate: 33.6%
  • 50% of PVSD families qualify for free/reduced lunch, the third highest poverty rate among Lancaster County school districts
  • 72% of households are cost burdened, paying 50% or more of their income for rent/mortgage, utilities, and transportation
