Having children and providing for their basic needs here on Long Island can prove to be very costly.
Many families find that purchasing a backpack or backpacks for their child or children and the school supplies requested by the school is very difficult and many children will go to school that first day without the supplies that they need to successfully start their school year.
Would you consider lending a hand by "adopting" a student through HHRM this year?
This is our 48th Annual School Supply Distribution! HHRM has served this community since 1965 and began their school supply drives when "Mother Gaines" noticed that poverty children were going to school without the proper supplies and wanted to make a difference, even in a small way.
We will provide you a student's first name, grade, school name and supply list via email at the beginning of August.
You can purchase a backpack and all of the items on the list, fill the backpack and drop off to HHRM by August 22nd. We will be distributing the backpacks on Saturday, August 25, 2018. We will also be serving lunch to the families that come on that day.

The average supply list costs $55-70 to purchase including the backpack and depending on where you choose to shop.
No time to shop? Would you consider donating funds to help purchase the needed items for some of our children? We will still be putting some backpacks together prior to the August 26th distribution.
Our goal this year is to provide 400 backpacks to needy children from our community and to assist two other smaller, local outreaches with backpacks for the families that they serve.
All donations are appreciated greatly and 100% tax deductible.
