#Giving Hope, Capital Fundraising Campaign
#GivingTuesday #GivingHope, You need to ask!
Have you ever had someone tell you, “People can’t help you if you don’t tell them what you need.”
My name is Kristine Pienkowski, I am the Executive Director of The Ranch of Hope Reins. I have to admit, as a child growing up in foster care, I have struggled with the difficulty of asking for help. It is common of children in ?foster care to carry fear or shame when asking for something. This is also true for children in under resourced families or those with addictions that leave the family financially stressed. Because I choose hope for the hurting children and families that need the services that The Ranch provides, I am asking for help.
The Ranch of Hope Reins needs:
- People who understand and support the powerful healing that horses can bring
- People who care about how great the need is for these children and families
- People who know the joy of giving to those who need help and hope
- And people who want to join a community that brings joy and hope to their own lives!
The Ranch of Hope Reins is a nonprofit in Hampshire, Illinois that provides services for children and families who are hurting and struggling. We have an amazing team of gifted professionals and 9 wonderful equines that help provide powerfully effective learning and healing. Although the nonprofit is only 3 years young, our work with children and families in our community is 15 years strong. We made the decision to establish our nonprofit, The Ranch of Hope Reins, so that we could provide services at a discounted fee or for free to those in need. This decision has been met with many obstacles, and because of some completely unforeseeable circumstances we find ourselves in a difficult situation. We are at the beginning of winter, and unable to finish the build-out of our offices, bathrooms, heating or electricity. We are in desperate need of getting the barn, arena, and office building completed so that our services to those in need can continue.
A few weeks ago, as I walked up the hill to the barn, I spotted a bald eagle. The sky was clear and blue, and the bald eagle was swooping and catching currents as it soared above The Ranch. It’s strength and beauty with its white head and tail was awe inspiring. I thought about how an eaglet learns to fly by being pushed from its nest. It has all the potential within itself, but without the continued support of the eaglet’s parents, it would not grow to be able to soar to great heights and far off places. My thoughts, as I continued my way up the hill to feed the horses, came back to The Ranch as it sits on the hill, with its outer structure complete. Metaphorically, it has been hatched and pushed out of its nest. The Ranch of Hope Reins is already doing some good work, and has been growing and preparing to take off. However, in order to really soar to its potential, The Ranch needs your help.
So, it is with boldness I am asking for help. Our need is not small. Below you will see the layout for the office building and some pictures of the outside. To complete the office section of the facility we need $40,000. To complete the arena and barn we need an additional $10,000.
We chose to start this fundraising campaign on #GivingTuesday, because the concept of this day is that there is such a great need and it is only by joining together that we can do these great things.
