In January 2018, 11-year-old Ava Blaser received devastating news, after being cancer free for 6 years, her cancer was back. Ava finished treatment for Wilms Tumor for the second time in September 2018 and continues to have many health-related obstacles and risks ahead. Even though she is currently cancer-free, she is not out of the woods. Statistically, she has a high chance of additional relapses and other serious side effects from the toxic treatments she endured.
Ava and Emma have decided to fight back against Ava's disease. Since it is unsafe for children to be treated with the same chemotherapies as adults, many kids are left with few treatment options, many of them being horribly toxic to children’s bodies. The girls want to improve treatment options for kids like Ava in the future, by raising funds for cutting edge Wilms Tumor research. This campaign may also be expanded to research other types of cancer in the future. (80% of funds go towards research grants)
In addition to funding research, Ava and Emma want to help relieve some of the financial burdens that many childhood cancer families experience. This will be done with gift cards for gas or other necessities, assisting in bill payments, etc. (20% of funds go to financial support)
Please help Ava and Emma fund research to defeat wilms tumor and potentially other pediatric cancers by supporting Blaser Cancer Research and Family Support Fund.
