My name is Rich Domanico and I’m the President of RMS Title & Appraisal Services. I met James Raffone in 2016 during JAR of Hope’s 10 Push-ups for $10 campaign at my gym. Up until that point I had never heard of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Hearing James describe the personal story of his son Jamesy being diagnosed with DMD at 4 years old had a significant impact on me as a father. James explained how his son would lose the use of his legs and be wheel chair bound by the age of 12. Then by his late teens Jamsey would be on a breathing tube, with a life expectancy in the 20’s. The most horrific part of this disease is that there is currently no cure. Parents are told there is nothing they can do for their child, except love them.
I learned a lot about DMD that day; however I learned more about a father’s will to save his son. James, along with his wife Karen were not prepared to accept their son’s fate and founded JAR of Hope to give him and the thousands of others boys diagnosed with DMD a chance.
Since that day I have gotten to know James personally and have contributed to some of his campaigns. Feeling the need to do more, I decided to officially join Team Jamesy and donate $1 of every appraisal RMS completes to JAR of Hope. Our goal is to raise $5,000 annually to help the Raffone’s in their tireless efforts to find a cure. Please consider helping me surpass that goal by making a donation. Together we can make a difference.
