If you always wanted to use your iPad to draw and paint, but it seemed too overwhelming, this is the class for you!
Learn how to use your iPad to make original art or to use as a supplement to your traditional medium. We will concentrate on the use of the Procreate App combined with the Apple Pencil. At the end of this Dabbler, you should be comfortable with painting in Procreate and be able to import sketches and photos into the app.
You must have a working knowledge of your iPad and understand how to navigate your iPad. (you will be using the camera, gestures like pinching, double finger tap, and more) If you need help with the basics, I recommend a class at Apple. The courses are free and will help you better use your iPad. In this class, we won't have time to teach basic iPad skills, so be sure you know how to get around your iPad. You can also find many many videos on basic iPad use.
What you need to do or know before class:
Know iPad basics
Have an iPad and Apple Pencil (see below* for your options) set up and ready to use.
Buy and install Procreate from the App Store. Procreate costs around $10. If you can, open the app and try it out.
Be sure your iPad is not full or even close to full. Take some of your apps, photos or movies off the iPad. These can be reloaded later. You need the storage space for Procreate and also for running the app (more space also means more layers.)
These iPads will work for this class.

IPAD PENCILS ONLY WORK WITH IPAD PROS EXCEPT for the 9.7 inch 2018 iPad, which works with the v1 Pencil.
Apple has suggested that an iPad Pro can be purchased and then returned within 15 days. The Apple Store suggested this option as a way to get iPads into our students' hands, since they don't rent iPads. The 15 day return policy is Apple's standard policy for any of its products.
