"Being a mother of two children, I don’t know what I would do if I was told that my child wouldn’t live past 18 years old due to a terminal disease. Unfortunately, this is what my friend Jim Raffone had to hear from his son’s pediatrician when his son Jamesy was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy."
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is an extremely rare terminal disease that affects 200,000 children a year with no known cure. Jim has made a decision to NOT accept this. His leadership, passion, devotion, and mission to find a cure is an inspiration.
"I made a commitment to Jim that I will do everything I can to help raise money and awareness for Duchenne and made the decision to run the Long Island half marathon and NYC Marathon in honor of Jamesey and JAR of Hope in 2019."
If you would be interested in making a donation or help us in raising awareness for JAR of hope it would be greatly appreciated.
