the little mustang that started it ALL!
Izzy was gathered from the Little Bookcliffs wild horse range in 2007. Left without any bids at the public adoption, she was trucked to Canon City holding facility on one of the prison properties there. A friend contacted Tracy and pleaded with her to adopt the little black mare from the wild horse area. Upon learnng that the horse could be socialized by and inmate, Izzy was adopted and brought to Tracy's home is Grand Junction, CO. Eight weeks later, the mare gave birth to Casanova! With three horses on two acres, it was time to re-think space. And, to address the issues facing wild horses on public lands. In 2010, Steadfast Steeds was born, to bring awareness to our nation's "living national treasure" as stated in the Free-roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act of 1971.
Izzy currently lives with several other socialized Mustangs and her son, Casanova, in Glade Park CO at Steadfast Steeds. Her passion is in helping young people wrestle with their demons and eventually release them in active life-coaching sessions.
