ABOUT THE PLAY
Set on a modern day undergraduate campus, Chicago Youth Shakespeare's production of Othello features the collaborative work of 15 youth artists from across the Chicago area, and examines issues of systemic racism, sexism, and abuse through a contemporary lens that speaks directly to today’s young adults.
This free event is designed to engage youth arts leaders across Chicagoland in conversation about race, equity, and the impact of theatre on social justice.
The performance will begin promptly at 7:30pm in the Gillian Theatre and runs 75 minutes with no intermission.
Immediately following the performance, the Writers Theatre Youth Council will lead a post-show discussion with the cast.
Seating is general admission, and doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the performance.
There will be no late seating, so please plan to arrive at the theatre at least 15 prior to curtain time!
