Universal Studios: 8th Grade GAT Field Trip
Last year, Friends of King was able to partner with our 8th grade Arts and Technology Magnet teachers in offering students the opportunity to attend Universal Studios with their classmates. We would like to continue this tradition. The intent is to observe how theme park developers use the elements and principles of art and design when creating these immersive experiences. A cross-curricular focus this year has been for our students to understand these design concepts; on this trip, they will be tasked with seeing how these concepts bring a vision to reality.
Friends of King is committed to providing support for enrichment learning opportunities for all students, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The total cost of the trip, including transportation, is $100 for each student. Based on the survey that was sent home with your child, there is genuine interest from families in participating in the Universal Studios trip scheduled for April 24, 2020. With the donations that parents have pledged on the survey, and the support of Friend of King, we are able to make this trip a reality!
You can contribute all at once or set up a payment schedule. This trip would only be made possible with the generous contribution of our communities and you. To ensure that we have ample time to plan for the event, please make your donation by Thursday, April 2
