A a choreographer and performance artist, I use and implement choreographic structures to activate three core tenets of my creative platform: ecology, choreographic excavation, and socially engaged praxis.
Ecology as relating to trauma, living archives, economics, environmental studies, phenomenology, spirituality, ancestry, and queerness/identity.
Choreographic excavation that uses contemporary dance, structured improvisations, Chinese energetics, somatic and ritual-based forms (i.e. duration, repetition, site-specificity, prayer, Tarot).
Socially engaged praxis as the bridge between the work that occurs within the context of the studio to communities that I am personally interested in engaging with through various forms of transmission and reciprocal exchanges such as convergences, think-tanks, pop up installations, podcasts, workshops, lectures, and interdisciplinary, intergenerational, and intercultural performances.
