We want every Girl Pioneer to be able to achieve her dreams, and for those Girl Pioneers who wish to attend a post-secondary educational institution, Starfish provides support through a program called the Quetzal Fund (QF). The fund was launched by Ted and Connie Ning in February 2015, and it provides full-ride university scholarships to many of the top 10% of Starfish graduates.
The mission of the Quetzal Fund is to ensure that high-achieving Starfish students can pursue post-secondary education, regardless of their economic circumstances. We aim to prepare young women to become agents of change in their communities, country, and our world. In 2015, 15 Girl Pioneers received full-ride scholarships to attend university because of the Quetzal Fund and scholarships from our partnership organizations, such as She’s the First, Progressa, and FEPMaya.
