Dr. Henry E. Holloway, Jr. Golf Tournament
2020 Virtual Tournament
The Dr. Henry E. Holloway Memorial Golf Tournament was first held in September 2010. The inaugural tournament was played at Mystery Valley Golf Course in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The tournament is name in honor of Dr. Henry E. Holloway, Jr., an emergency room physician who died in April 2010. Dr. Holloway was an active member of Project Uplift and worked tirelessly with students throughout DeKalb County. In honor of his contributions, the foundation started this event so that his work with students can be carried on through the years.
Since the tournament’s inception in 2010, Project Uplift has raised over $300,000 to contribute to young students in DeKalb and Rockdale Counties. In support of Dr. Holloway’s vision, Project Uplift presents its premier scholarship award to a male student committed to attending medical school and advancing to becoming a physician. This effort exemplifies Project Uplift’s goal of community support and empowerment.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, we have altered the format of this year's tournament. The 10th anniversary of the tournament will be our first “virtual” golf tournament. It is scheduled for September 19th through September 26th, 2020. Your participation will allow you to contribute to our scholarship fund raiser, while playing at the golf course of your choice during the week-long period of play.
The registration fee for the golf tournament is $50.00. If you choose not to play but want to make a donation, we are requesting $50.00 or whatever you deem appropriate. We are hoping that your contribution of $50.00, and the recruitment of other likeminded golfers and contributors will help us to continue to sponsor young men toward their academic aspirations.
Your support truly makes the difference in the lives of these young men.
