Bacon Free Library Capital Campaign
PLEASE HELP SAVE OUR BACON…
Your library on the river is the heart of South Natick. Ever since its doors were first opened in the 1880’s, the Bacon Free Library has served Natick well - not only as a lending library, but also as the historic cornerstone of the community.
For some people, the library is a meeting spot for story hour or book club or simply a place to quietly read by the Charles River dam. For others, the history of the building makes it a landmark that ties into the rich history of South Natick.
Although the Town of Natick helps with some annual funding, the Bacon Free Library is a non-profit organization that relies upon the donations of its patrons and supporters to ensure its long-term health and beauty. Today we are asking for your generosity as we embark on a Capital Campaign to help us preserve this iconic building, improve the grounds and continue giving you outstanding service and programs.
Here are some details…
- New windows ($165,000)—Our first critical priority is to replace all the windows in the library section as they are failing and threatening the integrity of the building.
- Interior redesign ($90,000)—We plan to expand upon and enhance the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of your library.
- Landscaping ($90,000)—We want to build upon the idyllic setting by the Charles with more accessible pathways and seating areas.
- Endowment ($120,000)—Imperative to our future is the need to augment our current endowment allowing us to preserve this unique and historical community asset.
The goal of $465,000 is significant and necessary.
Every dollar counts…a gift of any amount is greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged.
We are very grateful to have secured some substantial contributions and pledges in the $10,000-15,000 range, so we’re off to a great start! A gift of $15,000 will replace one of the 9 large main floor windows and will have a plaque of recognition below the window. A $5,000 gift will replace one of the third story cupola windows and will be recognized prominently on the main floor.
If you would like to donate or learn more about this campaign, please contact Lauren Pfendner, Director of the Bacon Free Library, at email@example.com or 508-653-6730 - or feel free to donate online via the above link.
We cannot do this without you! Thank you for your consideration.
