Supporting Student Success Through Technology
Help Bring the Edison K-8 School Into the 21st Century
The Edison K-8 School continues to meet the needs of our learners by offering tailored customized instruction in a variety of ways.  The Edison K-8 School leverages technology and online resources to provide their students with targeted intervention instruction. As we strengthen our students' skills through these specialized and myriad programs, we are also working toward Mayor Walsh’s goal of Boston Public Schools becoming a Digital District by 2020. The underlying goal is for our schools to serve as centers of excellence --- leveraging innovative, digital learning tools and resources to meet the learning needs of all students and prepare them for college and career success in today’s economy.  The diversity of Edison’s K-8’s students and our intentional focus on inclusive practices makes the Edison K-8 a model school to transform into a 21st Century school.  To build capacity as a 21st Century school supporting a high concentration of ELL students and students with special needs, we require consistent technological advancements within our classrooms, ultimately reaching our goal of becoming 1:1 student:device school. In 2018, 90% of Edison students made significant growth on MCAS, and we attribute our achievement to the high level of customized intervention support delivered by teachers and technology.
