The Georgia Alliance to End Homelessness Inc. encourages you to register now for the up coming,October 4th, full day (at the beach) training event! Lunch will be provided.
Register now to attend this busy day packed with three, 2 hour trainings, on beautiful Cauble Park Beach in Acworth, Ga. The trainings will be centered around building practical understanding of serving intact families for homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing as well awareness of child abuse/exploitation prevention during those transitional periods.
- Homeless Prevention by Housing Families First- Joyce Grangent,
Successful case management can play a large role in the child, family and unaccompanied youth’s ability to find and retain housing…promoting an end to homelessness. Housing First and Homeless Prevention will empower families to make decisions that will achieve more positive personal outcomes. Participants will discuss implementing strategies in their own child and family case management work while encouraging community support.
- Strengthening Families- Katheryn Preston, MSWHomelessness can be an unnecessary pitfall for children, families and unaccompanied youth. Investing in prevention and the five protective factors known to mitigate the negative effects of adverse childhood experiences intentionally focuses on strengthening families. Participants will discuss designing community-based family homeless prevention programs that create successful childhood experiences and grow stronger families.
- Stewards of Children Darkness to Light- Denise Pope, MSW
Evidence based and third party evaluated, this training focuses on best practices for prevention and real world practical approaches to changing adult behaviors. Participants will learn how to prevent, recognize, and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse.
