SonnyBoy Animal Sanctuary, Inc. is located on 6.5 acres of land in central Wisconsin. We are working on installing a perimeter fence for the entire property including a security gate at the main entrance. We are contracting with Oak Haven Fencing to install the fence. It will be installed with treated posts and graduated wire. A hot wire will be placed on the outside at approx 1' above ground and along the top, adding an additional 6" to the 4' fence.

There are a number of reasons for this fence.

First, it will allow our livestock guardian dog, Millie, to patrol the entire property outside of the pig enclosures. This will deter coyotes, wolves, bobcats, and other animals from entering the property. She will also be able to patrol the horse and goat pen, assisting Honey the Mule with protection duties.

Second, in the event of an escape artist making good on their attempt, it will contain our crafty resident inside the property. While we have been lucky so far and haven't had any major escapes (unless you count Millie), we want to ensure the utmost safety for our residents.

Third, it will deter any individual with harmful intent from entering the property. There are three areas that people with ill intent gravitate towards .... police, fire, and animal rescue. With the lives of our residents at stake, it is our duty to ensure that people with ill intent don't make it onto the property.
