Boston Public Schools Global Travel Program Fund
Support and Empower All BPS Students to Travel Abroad
The Department of Global Education at Boston Public Schools strives to increase the quality, and number of international experiences for all BPS students. During the 2018-2019 school year, in total, 364 BPS secondary students from across 13 schools traveled to 15 different countries. However, our goal is to increase, and broaden the representation of students and schools traveling internationally. Students who participate in an international program gain a better understanding of the world, and themselves as global citizens, are more likely to engage in academically challenging coursework, thrive in college and career, and master a foreign language. The impact is profound.
This goal cannot be accomplished without funding support. Many of our students do not have the means to make international travel a reality. Regardless of affordability, international travel should be the expectation for all Boston students, not the exception. Your contribution, which will be placed in a centralized district fund, will help to increase access, and equitable opportunities to international travel for all students across the district.
