Support Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind
Keeping Outdoor Recreation Accessible to the Blind & Those with Low Vision
SUPPORT FORESIGHT'S TRANSFORMATIVE PROGRAMS
YOUR donation will directly support people who are blind or have low vision by providing them with outdoor experiences that increase their confidence, self-worth and physical fitness. Studies show that mountain-based recreation, like skiing and rock climbing, teach blind and low vision individuals skills to overcome obstacles and barriers they may encounter in their lives. Blind athletes also help shatter the misconceptions many sighted people have about the "types" of sports and recreational activities blind individuals can participate in.
BACKGROUND
Since 2001 Foresight Ski Guides has used skiing and snowboarding as a way for Visually Impaired Participants (VIPs) to experience the freedom and confidence that can only comes from zipping down a ski slope. Foresight also offers transformative experiences in the summer through its two Summer Camps for Blind Youth which take place every June and July. Foresight continues to offer opportunities that break down barriers allowing those who are blind and experiencing low vision to live their best lives.
