Randall's Island 5K to Support Run:Hope 2019
It is time once again for our annual Randall’s Island 5k run for our Run:Hope Education Initiative in Guatemala on Saturday, September 21st at 9:30 a.m. The adult race will be followed by a Children's Fun Run at 10:30 a.m. We had a great group last year of over 20 runners and we hope to do even better this year! It’s a fun and scenic run and a great time of camaraderie and fellowship at the after brunch.
This year our runners are running to raise funds and awareness for our Run:Hope Education initiative in Quiche, Guatemala. Through our Run:Hope initiative we are helping provide an education for close to 200 students in three hard to access rural communities and are providing further education for 25 participating Run:Hope teachers. When children and teachers are enabled to continue their education the local churches and communities are strengthened. Without the Run:Hope initiative, these young people would not be in school.
This Year we want to focus on raising funds for program expansion. We have communities that are ready and waiting for the Run:Hope program and the only obstacle are sufficient funds to provide the opportunity for education. Our goal is $20,000 which will bring hope to 50 students.
