Haiti is an island nation. Fishing was central to its people its for thousands of years before
Colonialism. People in Haiti love fish, but years of over fishing combined with dying reefs due to
erosion has made fish harder and harder to come by.
Enter aquaculture. We want to help Haitians grow their own fish. We want to partner with local organizations who are teaching Haitians how to ‘farm fish’, digging fish ponds, and stocking those ponds with fish.
For $4000.00 you can:
Provide a fish farmer with training and support.
Help a fish farmer dig a pond.
Stock a pond for a fish farmer who is starting out.
Provide enough fish food for a farmer to get their first batch of fish to market.
