Make a Meal for your Neighbors in Need
BTV Shelter is "low barrier" and provides emergency accommodations, getting our neighbors out of the cold during our cold nights. When you volunteer to provide a meal you do more than fill their bellies, you are letting them know that people in the community care about their well being. We are so grateful for you, for making this gesture of compassion!
Updates due to COVID-19
The Low Barrier Shelter will host 30 clients until the end of the season, and we have helped relocate them to the North Beach Campgrounds in campers. Their safety, health, and wellbeing is our number one concern! Additionally, we are also asking meal providers if they can provide individually wrapped and/or packaged meals for each guest. This is another precaution to ensure the wellbeing and health of our guests.
While that might seem like a lot of people to feed it's helpful to remember that simple, straightforward meals are always appreciated.

Don't have the time to cook? No worries! Purchasing a pre-made meal from the grocery store, or ordering delivery or take-out from your favorite restaurant is equally appreciated!
Meals should be delivered between 5:30pm and 6:00pm. Meals for thirty should be prepackaged individually, and be delivered between 11:30am and 12:30pm for lunch, to the North Beach Campgrounds. Dinners should be dropped off between 5:30pm and 6:00pm We also accept meal donations from local restaurants, and/or delivery. Allergies: onions, 3 don’t eat meat, and one is also vegan!
The BTV Shelter is located at 60 Institute Rd, Burlington, VT 05408. To drop off the meal, drive through the EXIT lane (instead of the enter lane), and you will see the staff camper parked next to a red barn. Please look for a staff member, and they will be happy to help share the meals with the guests.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care, kindness, and assistance. It means the world to our guests experiencing homelessness currently.
