The Buffalo Trace Distillery is an American owned company based in Frankfort, Kentucky. It has specially bottled only 400 bottles of its 6 Millionth Barrel of bourbon and donated them to nonprofits around the country to raise money for charitable causes.
“It’s a really unique opportunity for someone who collects rare bourbons, since it will not be sold in any stores. The only way you can acquire this bottle is by winning one from one of the nonprofits who with through the grant application process and received one!” explains Arts Quincy executive director Laura Sievert.
The Arts Quincy bottle is number #252 of only 400 of the special edition in the world. The historic bourbon has aged 10 years and 11 months in a special tiny rick house built to hold just one milestone barrel at a time. The highly-sought-after barrel was bottled in 375 m glass bottles which are hand- inscribed with its number and description. It is beautifully displayed in a custom hardwood showcase box which includes a piece of the charred oak stave, a book about the history of the distillery, and features an etched glass lid that incorporates the Buffalo Trace logo and Six-Millionth Bottle branding.
This is not the first time Arts Quincy has partnered with Buffalo Trace. In 2016, Arts Quincy applied for and won another rare bottle, which sold in an online auction to a player from the Green Bay Packers for $10,000.
