On May 1, 2019, life changed for the Wilbur family when their youngest daughter Caroline Wilbur was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma seventeen days shy of her seventeenth birthday. While chemotherapy, clinic appointments and blood transfusions threatened to steal the light from the brown eyed, red headed beauty, Caroline and her family have leaned on their faith and their community and have found strength. When not fighting cancer, Caroline proudly serves as captain of her high school cheer team and a member of the National Honor Society. Her family is also actively involved at Second Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas. When she can, Caroline enjoys spending time with mom Lisa, dad Kelley and her older sister Olivia who is currently attending college in College Station.Upon completing high school and treatment (which will likely entail surgery, more chemo and radiation), Caroline hopes to attend college in Oklahoma or Arkansas. All funds donated to Team Wilbur will be used to directly cover non-medical expenses that the family incurs through the duration of Caroline’s cancer care. Such tangible support may include gift cards for medical center parking, groceries and meals so that the family can focus their time and energy on doing the things that only they can do...together.Donations to A Shelter for Cancer Families are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
