Kill Silence. Save Lives.
About Breaking Taboo
Breaking Taboo is a unique and much needed volunteer driven nonprofit organization
dedicated to providing suicide prevention education and
promoting mental health awareness.
90% of suicides are preventable
1 suicide occurs every 40 seconds
1 in every 4 people suffer from a mental health condition
Most suicides have an underlying mental health condition
Numbers are likely higher, as they often go unreported
We focus on the root cause
Our mission is to save lives, and we do this by:
* Kill Silence. Save Lives.
*Breaking the taboo around mental health and suicide prevention
*Making mental health education assessible to the common public
*Providing vital & life saving education to everyone
* Ensuring that mental health is treated with as equal importance as physical health
*Providing life saving resources and step by step tools
* Encouraging conversations around necessary topics
* Ensuring that no one is left feeling helpless or hopeless or alone
* Promoting overall awareness of mental health and suicide prevention
In addition to providing consistent mental health education to the common public in forms of resources, educational articles, media videos, interviews, videocasts, podcasts, social media, and more- we are also working on huge, world changing projects which are designed to make a significant impact in society.
Our Educational Documentary
Currently, one of the projects we are proud to be working on is our much needed documentary film that will revolutionize the way mental health is perceived.
This one of it's kind documentary will educate the common public how to prevent suicide, get help, seek resources, and break taboo around mental health.
Instead of fearing mental health, people will be more equipped to handle it, for themselves and for their loved ones.
Most of all, it will teach people how to save lives and inspire us all to live, and live mentally healthily
The world will have better mental health overall.
This educational resource will not only be provided for easy access within everyone's home, but will also be
distributed to public school systems to help adolescents and young adults in need
and to communities of need including but not limited to the veteran's association.
Dozens of people have already dedicated their time, energy, and resources to this project already.
We need your help to make this project a reality.
Our supporters and partners fuel every aspect of our hard work – most of us are doing this purely out of our desire to help. If you would like to help us create a better world- a world in which the numbers for suicide finally decrease and a world where mental health is treated with the same consideration as physical health, then please give a contribution today and help us save lives.
The world needs this work now more than ever and every second counts! We need people like you to move from feelings to action. We need people like you to be at the forefront of this change. So please, take action right now and join us in Breaking Taboo. Help us Kill Silence - Save Lives.
