Mike MacPherson, Celebrity Dancer
Maryland Center for the Arts
"The arts are an essential part of the human experience. They fill the senses, expand the mind, and nourish the soul. The arts encourage self-discovery allowing us to reach our full potential and create the masterpiece that is our life." - Mike MacPherson, President & CEO, Freedom Federal Credit Union
While the Gala is cancelled, we will celebrate Mike's hard work in both fundraising and practicing. We are planning a creative way to honor his support and give awards to the top fundraisers at an online celebration on October 22, so stay tuned.
The annual Gala Dinner and Ballroom Dance Competition event fuels the operating budget of the Maryland Center for the Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides quality arts programs for all ages and is building an arts center in Bel Air, MD to provide quality space for performances, exhibits, and educational programs in the arts. Because of your generous support, we have been able to continue our operations, partnerships to provide arts programming around the region, our Harford Plein Air outdoor painting festival, and our capital project to provide the community with an arts center for performances, art exhibits, and educational programs in the arts.

“While the Coronavirus pandemic has caused the cancellation of such an important and truly entertaining fundraising gala event, the arts continue to be vital to our communities. We need to continue to support the arts through these unprecedented times so that when it is safe we will again join together for dancing, concerts of all kinds, art exhibits, and all other forms of art that can transform communities,” said Gala Honorary Chair, Yumi Hogan, First Lady of Maryland.
