Hugh Shaw's life and death had a major impact on his community with a spiritual element beyond explanation and a surfing element beckoning embrace. Who is Hugh Shaw? And what is so special about Hugh to fuel such passion?

This campaign is underway to raise the finishing funds to complete the film. Principal photography is near completion through the investment of early supporters. Needed now are funds to conduct editing, complete acquisition of any remaining elements, and launch the film into the marketplace with a supporting social impact campaign.

Our film began the journey of discovery more than five years ago to learn the secret to Hugh's immense gravitational force. What is unfolding is a powerful story about friendship, the ocean and transforming the pain of loss into positive action. It is also a story about what is possible to experience in even a short life and the forces that threaten to keep freedom and joy from fully manifesting, including the undercurrents of the digital age.

Captured so far since production began in 2015 are multiple gatherings of the Hugh Shaw Memorial Longboard Surf Classic, held during Flagler College's annual alumni weekend; testimonies of those who knew Hugh personally as well as those who have been welcomed into the growing community; and interviews from experts providing insights into our modern digital culture.
