The West Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative has been a hub of the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative since 2007. It serves a four-county area in which schools and communities collectively span the urban/rural and income continua. The hub supports hands-on, community-based learning experiences that help young Michigan learners become lifelong stewards of the Great Lakes. The West Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative is hosted by the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District.
