Giving Tuesday 2019
Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.
Happy #GivingTuesday 2019! This year, our focus will be on three essential aspects of Springbrook’s mission and vision. First is our Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program. Through the efforts of this program, people take part in up to 15 sessions at local stables. While relatively inexpensive as a therapy, we are hoping to expand the number of participants who can benefit from this experience. Second, we are asking for support to close the funding gap for important staff development projects, such as our Springbrook Scholars program. Last but not least, is the MOVE program at the School at Springbrook. The School at Springbrook has a history of success with students with complex needs that could not be met in their home school districts. We have seen an increasing demand for services to students with physical disabilities in recent years. Currently, 20 students at the School at Springbrook have mobility limitations, 75% use wheelchairs. We need additional equipment to provide these students with alternative positioning & activity throughout the day. These items will facilitate the implementation of the MOVE initiative, promoting independence & dignity for students with mobility limitations.
Your gift will help to meet our $10,000 goal to
support these three important initiatives;
thank you for your generosity this #GivingTuesday
and throughout the rest of December!
About #GivingTuesday
Each year, after the hustle and bustle of shopping following Thanksgiving, people across the globe come together to support philanthropic missions on #GivingTuesday. After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is a breath of fresh air. This year, starting on Tuesday, December 3, people from around the world will come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. Last year, millions of people from across the United States and over 98 countries celebrated #GivingTuesday, with worldwide giving exceeding $400 million. This year, giving is expected to reach $500 million. Through collaboration and social media, Springbrook brings together parents, supporters, and the community on this global day of giving.
