End-of-Year Giving Campaign 2019
Join us Friday the 13th for the soirée!
When we say that the Bike Library is a volunteer-run community bike project, we mean: our volunteers repair bikes for all ages, haul bikes, salvage bikes, recycle bikes, teach us about bikes, get people of all walks of life on bikes, and empower those bicyclists to wrench and ride.
We couldn't do what we do with you:
your time, your contributions, your support.
In 2019, we focused on our youth initiatives and are proud to say we served over 100 children in need of a bike and safety/handling instruction with free customized bicycle programming.
We partner with Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County to provide this customized week-long bicycle safety summer programming: Bike Club for kids K-6, a camp for young women to learn to ride (WERide), and, adult-led bicycle rides to and from school in the spring & fall (WERide to School).
This high level of free, quality education, we believe will turn young riders into lifelong cyclists!
If we are fortunate enough to make it onto your giving list this season, your monetary donations will go toward bicycle refurbishment, bike storage, quality helmets, safety gear, and encouragement awards for youth as they move through the various levels of skills training.
Your donation will be instrumental in expanding WERide, Bike Club, and our daily Bike Library operations, and your generosity will be gratefully received by everyone at the Bike Library!
If you have already donated in the form of bikes, money, or time as a volunteer— thank you!
Donations of $150 and higher will receive a 12” x 19” "Repair and Care" limited edition print made by local artist Alexandra Janezic.
Peace this holiday season,
Executive Director, Iowa City Bike Library
