Chinese culture is rich with thousands of years of carefully preserved philosophical, religious and scientific canonical texts.
This class series will be exploring the Dao De Jing (TaoTe Ching) dating to the late Zhou dynasty.
This is one of the most widely read and least understood. Some read it is simply as advice to a king by a government employee fed up of politics; others understand the text as profound instructions on spiritual wisdom.
There are as many interpretations of this text as there are commentaries and translations. Come and explore the Dao De Jing and other texts in the original Chinese language led by Daniel Altschuler.
No previous knowledge of Chinese language or Chinese philosophy is required. But expect to do Chinese homework. Read, contemplate, challenge.
