Garden Chefs (ages 9-13) July 27-31st
Cook, Eat and Enjoy the Tasty Side of Plants with ABG!
This camp is for the young chef in your life! Designed for ages 9-13, campers will spend an entire week learning how to plant and care for a raised bed vegetable garden. Each day campers will learn to make two healthy plant based snacks, practice measuring ingredients, follow a recipe, and learn about key nutrients our bodies need to survive. This camp is taught at a more advance level and campers will be cooking around a hot stove as well as using kitchen cutting knives with supervision. All camps take place in our unique garden classroom and on 110 acres of natural Boreal Forest! Expert staff lead campers through fun, hands-on, science-based environmental education activities. All camp materials are provided as well as weekly take-home projects. Adult to camper ratio is 2:10.
Our camps are held outside rain or shine in our tent covered outdoor garden classroom. Campers should pack a lunch and snacks for each day. All campers need to bring extra clothing layers, water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toed shoes (no sandals), and a backpack. Please leave all toys and electronics at home.
Early drop off is from 8:45-9:00am and all campers must be picked up at 12:30pm.
