Lentini Scouting Trip to Italy for Future Location
On the trip, the goal is to meet with leaders of two churches in Lucca, Italy and start building relationships. We will also be looking for places to work and looking for housing. We will be calculating the cost of living expenses and getting moved to Lucca.
Our goal is in three phases. The first phase is moving there and getting integrated into the community. The first couple of years is mostly adjustment for our family; the kids and I learning Italian and getting plugged into the church and begin hospitality. The second phase would be to raise money to start a Robert Chapman House. In the Robert Chapman House, which would be the size of a B&B house, as we go to conferences we will be inviting elders of a church to come for a weekend free of charge to not only refresh them physically through hospitality from their serving but to refresh them spiritually through studying the scriptures together and praying together for their church. With the goal of energizing them to go back and be refreshed in serving their congregations. We would also be inviting tired missionaries to come and stay with the same goal in mind to energize them to keep serving where they are and not quit. Missionaries tend to last 2 ½ years and we would like to help in changing that statistic. The third phase once the Chapman House is up and running then we will be working to figure out how to help the farmers, so God’s blessings of good crops are not destroyed but is used to help the poor Italian people. In this project, the goal is to get evangelical churches in Italy to work together to minister to the poor in their area with meeting a physical need that will ultimately lead to ministering to their spiritual need.
