What About Food?

Film and Dialogue Series

The Detroit Food Policy Council (DFPC) hosts the What About Food? Film and Dialogue Series to help educate Detroiters about the community food security and developing sustainable local food systems. In the film series we screen films about topics related to community food security and sustainable food systems. Film screenings feature panel discussions with local experts and community advocates who provide a local perspective of the topics introduced in the films.

Join us for our next film, Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story, on Wednesday, January 31.

Just Eat It: A Food Waste Film

Join Detroit Food Policy Council and The Campus Kitchen at University of Detroit Mercy for a screening of Just Eat It. Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of food waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse
of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North
America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping and survive only on discarded food.
Following the film join us for a panel discussion with local experts and community advocates who provide a local perspective on food waste in our community.

Free and open to the public, refreshments will be served
