Our mission at IPV is to offer access to the Dharma and to care for the well-being of our Sangha, our community, and all beings. Given the spread of COVID-19, we are now grappling with the question of how best to balance continuing to offer refuge with protecting public health.
It has not been an easy decision for us to make, but we have decided to suspend our in-person offerings at the Sangha and to make them available online via Zoom. We do this in the spirit of sila (ethical conduct) and out of a commitment to non-harming and wise action.
We stress that this closure is not due to a confirmed local case of COVID-19 or any concern with the health and safety of the Center. This action is in alignment with Public Health best practices and an important step to take before people or the community are exposed. Intervention at this phase will hopefully prevent our dharma friends, teachers, and staff from ever becoming infected.
We so much appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to continue sharing the Dharma in this unsettling time. Our compassion and care for the Sangha is in everything we do. We hope you will continue to support the Center and the teachers through this challenging time. As usual, any dana that comes in will be split with 60% for the teacher and 40% for the center.
Please note, the last step in the giving process is to select which Dharma Talk you are supporting. Thank you.
