Embodied Retreat 2020 - Online
Experiencing God with our Whole Being
Join us for an online morning of contemplative practices and virtual community as we connect with God in a new way. Living Aspen does not intend to proselytize or recruit people to a specific religion. Rather, we realize that many survivors have experienced religious abuse and there are no spaces to explore the impact of that experience, nor ways to navigate a healing pathway that is also emotionally safe and stable. Our Embodied retreat is offered to those who wish to explore this aspect of their healing journey.
As survivors of abuse we can experience or be told about a god who demands self-sacrifice at all costs, who elevates the union of marriage over personal safety, and who often provides safety for an abuser's reputation over the reality of the victim's high risk circumstances.
Invitations to be contemplative can be scary because you may anticipate the god you have previously experienced to show up in this space. We invite you to connect in a different way than doctrine and teaching. We create a space of noticing where we are being led and entering into those moments. I hope you choose to join us.
Limited tickets are available (10) so register soon.
