NE Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative

Developing the next generation of natural resource stewards in NE Michigan

The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative supports place-based stewardship education projects that get hands in the dirt, feel in the water and hearts in the community.  Alongside community partners, youth develop as stewards of healthy ecological systems in their communities and the Great Lakes region.  They also crack open their own curiosity and begin to tap into life-long learning.

In 2023 we:

  • Engaged 4.437 students in place-based stewardship education projects
  • Supported 85 teachers in professional development and/or funding for place-based stewardship education projects
  • Supported a network of 100+ community partners, connecting and supporting them to PBSE opportunities

We also hit our fundraising goal because of a group of donors who see the value, magic and power in what we work to do.  Thank you!  Your money stays in Northeast Michigan, directly supporting the efforts of this organization. The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative wouldn't make an impact without community support.  While we continue to bring grant funding into the region, your donations help us to be nimble and flexible in our support of educators and youth.

Your tax-deductible gift supports our continued efforts to inspire students, expand classrooms, strengthen communities and protect natural resources, right here and right now.  With a single donation, you can generate so much good. We promise to use your donation to nurture the people and places you care about.

Giving Is Easy.
