What is a Makerspace?
Makerspace is a place where students can work independently or in a group to make things with resources that encourage exploration, creative play and skill building. Makerspaces promote hands-on learning with access to tools that have to do with things such as electronics, robotics, design, woodworking, fiber arts, laser cutting, programming, and more. Combined, the place and the tools provide students a unique opportunity to discover new possibilities and fuel passions that help develop career choices.
The Jamestown Education Foundation Makerspace fund raising campaign helps the Jamestown School outfit its Makerspace with resources that drive discovery, innovation and skill building. All donations to the Jamestown Education Foundation Makerspace fund raising campaign will go towards purchasing tools, materials, and or expertise for the purpose of making the Jamestown School Makerspace a highly enabling environment for students.
Making a Makerspace starts with your gift.
